Forever Stamps 2025 Freshwater Fishing Lures – Outdoor Recreation, First-Class Postage

The pane of 20 stamps features colorful close-up photographs of five popular lure designs: the crankbait, the popper, the spinner, the wakebait and the spoon.

“Fishing lures are more than just tools — they represent tradition, innovation and a deep connection to the great outdoors,” said Lee Beasley, campus director at Bass Pro Shops, who served as master of ceremonies.

Most people think of winter as ice fishing season only. But by paying close attention to weather patterns, winter can offer some memorable — if slightly uncomfortable — days on-stream as well.

Winter trout fishing in running water requires patience, weatherproof clothing, and the ability to ignore cold fingers and toes. Fish tend to eat less and hide in deeper water in winter, especially when temperatures are frigid and streams become slow-moving and clear. But during the occasional winter thaw, when water temperatures increase slightly, anglers may find fast-flowing, cloudy runoff — and hungry fish.
